I grew up in Hobart, Tasmania. It's a beautiful place, and worth visiting if you get the chance.

Now I live in Melbourne with my partner, Kenneth. We like to play games and design useful things together. We also like to travel - even if it's sometimes just a visit to the center aisle at Aldi.

Horseshoe Falls, Tasmania. About an hour out of the capital city.
The Game Boy behind my earliest gaming experiences.

I've always loved games. Starting with Tetris and Super Mario Land 2 on my Dad's Game Boy, through a lengthy Pokémon phase in school, and into adulthood as a developer, I've been involved with them my entire life.

Interactive systems are fascinating to me, and the way games create art and emotion from those systems is endlessly interesting.

I'll play and take inspiration from just about anything. I keep a record of - and any significant thoughts about - the video games I play here.

Doesn't matter if it's on the computer or the table. I play tabletop role-playing games on a regular basis, and even wrote one myself. I have plenty of experience leading stories as a game master, and contributing to a joint creative effort as a player.

My passion for interactive systems isn't just limited to fun and games. I bring the same excitement to web development, home automation, and anything else I work on.

Aside from my projects, I have built a network of self-hosted software to handle my home's digital storage, entertainment, and development work.

It's my hope that I'll be able to take my inspirations and experience forward to build things that live up to my intentions. I'm never more creatively fulfilled than when I've managed to make something fit-for-purpose and delightful.
